Ripon Rotary Club - Weekly News 15 February 2012

Canon Paul Greenwell prefaced his talk yesterday by thanking club members for their good work in Ripon. He later followed club involvement in the Pancake Day races by describing ancient Ripon customs including the baking of 'Wilfra tarts', apples symbolising life distributed at Ripon Cathedral on Christmas Day and the burning of 4,000 candles on the Sunday before Candlemas Day - a ceremony which was revived in 1964.

Youth Volunteering awards on March 2nd at North Stainley start at 7 p.m.

The St Cecilia Concert tickets are priced at £12 for adults, £10 concessions and £5 for children.
