Wadebridge Rotarians Plant Snowdrops
This morning, Tuesday 20 March, three intrepid Club members - Mike, Bob R and a very dodgy gardener (Graham), went snowdrop planting on the Pencarrow House Estate near Bodmin. We joined a small band of Pencarrow Friends and two Golden Retrievers helping to place ten thousand snowdrops along the driveway near to the House - next winter's 'Snowdrop Sunday' will be an even better sight than this year! It was a rather fun hour or two, spent in delightful company and the job was quite relaxing after the stresses and strains of 'ordinary life'! Pencarrow is a wonderful place to be for both humans and dogs and it was a real pleasure to play just a small part in keeping it looking good for the future. Mike has recently been in negotiation with the Pencarrow House Estate, who have once again very graciously agreed to us using the grounds, about a date for the 2012 Camel Challenge Fun Run later in the year and we await the smoke to emerge from the chimney on the choice for the finally selected day. I am sure shall all look forward to playing our part as marshalls etc. on the chosen day."
