Wadebridge Rotary Club member joins a 1290 District aid convoy to Kosovo

Mike Dodd, A Wadebridge Rotarian, Joins Aid Convoy

The Rotary Club of Wadebridge is proud to have played a part in an Overseas Project Team convoy, masterminded by Rotary’s West Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly District since 1999. Amongst many other activities, this Rotary team provides Fire and Rescue vehicles (with associated fire-fighting equipment) to countries in dire need of such equipment.

Last May,  three Fire & Rescue Emergency Response Vehicles (Long Wheel Base Land Rovers) made the journey to Kosovo - the journey took them through France, Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro before they entered Kosovo via the Montenegro Mountains.  Wadebridge Rotarian, Mike Dodd, most generously volunteered to share the driving of one of these vehicles the whole 1900 miles!
