Lunch Meeting - 50 Year Membership Celebration

At our lunchtime meeting on 1st May, District Governor Barry Preen (pictured right) presented our club member John Sutton (centre) with his 50 Year Rotary Membership Award signed by the Rotary International President Kalyan Banerjee together with a personal letter from the RI President; also our club President Joe Cartwright (left) honoured John with a sapphire pin to his Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Rotarian Yvonne Burke iced a special 50th anniversary cake for John which he cut and all those present celebrated by each having a slice of his cake.  It was a fitting ceremony for a much loved Rotarian who has given outstanding service to Rotary in a quiet, unassuming but so important way for 50 years.
