His industrial background includes positions as Product Manager, Account Manager, Regional Sales Manager, National Account Manager and Marketing Manager at RMC PLC, IBM and Anchor Foods Ltd. He has also held company secretarial and business management roles with the NHS, Thames Valley University and Cancer Research UK, where he was General Manager, Clinical Research Directorate.
His academic career includes Senior Lecturer (Strategy and Management) at London Metropolitan University, Deputy Director of MBA Programmes (Herriot Watt) at London School of Accountancy and Director of Coventry University Marketing Advice Centre
He has had a number of consultancy assignments including financial reviews for Bechtel Engineering, the London College of Fashion and a derivatives training programme for the Bank of England.
He has also carried out over 100 separate assignments on behalf of BERR in order to assist SMEs in the West Midlands. These included marketing audits, financial reviews and strategic planning advice, an Economic Impact Study for Northampton Saints Rugby Club and two Fan Surveys for Northampton Football Club.
