About the Rotary Club of Plympton

The Plympton Rotary Club is just one of 41 clubs in Rotary District 1290 (West Devon and Cornwall) and one of around a dozen clubs in or around the immediate vicinity of Plymouth. It was formed in 1954 and is twinned with the Rotary Club of Brest-Les-Abers (in France).

We are a club with a great mix of ages and pride ourselves on our programme of events - great speakers at our meetings, fun social events and a good mix of events to help the community both at home and abroad. The photos below give you a taste and if you scroll down or click on the tabs to the left you can find out more about the club.

We’re For Communities

A common question Rotarians get asked is what is Rotary all about. Hopefully visitors to this website will get a good idea but Rotary in Great Britain & Ireland (RIBI) will be shortly launching a new campaign which aims to tell everyone what Rotary stands for in a very simple way. Put simply, Rotary is for the community – be it the local community or the international community.

The sub-pages to this section of the website detail our past presidents as well as recognising those people (members and non-members) who the club have presented Paul Harris Fellowships to.  Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary in and in the UK, PHFs are presented to those Rotarians who have done something beyond what is expected of a member as well as members of society who have done something remarkable.
