The group met at Oxenhope Railway Station, on a morning with light mist veiling the promise of a sunny day to come, in time for coffee before catching the 10.05 train to Haworth to start the walk. The train happened to be a German built single carriage diesel from the 1960's and we were treated to a nice commentary on this type by our driver.
Alighting at Haworth, we proceeded to climb the only hill of the day, to the top of Haworth Main Street where we left the village through a throng of Japanese tourists at the Churchyard, towards Oxenhope.
Along the way we took a right turn to bring us onto the ridge which ran above Leeshaw Reservoir towards Oxenhope Stoop Hill.
A slight undulation later, we arrived at the start of the Conduit which feeds Thornton Moor Reservoir and some of us marvelled at the ingenuity of the Victorian engineers who built these structures. We followed this conduit all the way to Nab Hill before taking White Moor Lane, an old green lane just under the hill.
This eventually led us, via another small undulation, down to The Dog & Gun Inn where we enjoyed a nice lunch before returning to our start point via the edge of Black Moor.
