This committee exists to undertake environmental projects on behalf of the club

The Club has undertaken one environmental project in each of the last two years.

In 2010/11 we purchased and planted 3000 crocuses in the grounds of Bradford Marie Curie Hospice.

In 2011/12 we purchased and planted 2000 whips to form a hedge on farmland at the hamlet of Marsh just outside Oxenhope.

In 2012/13 I propose that we will undertake a further single environmental project. Possibilities include:

A further PLANTING probably in conjunction with The Forest of Bradford.

  • A LITTERPICKING operation in a local area which Club members may like to propose.
  • Setting up a BUTTERFLY GARDENS PROJECT within one or two local schools. (This was pioneered very successfully by the Rotary Clubs of Skipton Craven and Skipton in 2010 & 2011).

Any further suggestions would be welcome.
