Lochnager Crater.

Past President Murdo MacInnes and Rotarian Ian Birrell have just returned from a trip to the Lochnager Crater at La Boiselle in Northern France.

The crater was formed following detonation of a mine on the morning of 1^st July 1916 at the begining of the battle of the Somme.Other mines were detonated but the crater at La Boiselle is the only one remaining.

After the detonation the British infantry left their trenches and walked towards the German lines.The Grimsby
