East Cliff Club starts Foundation Fund Raising through Friendship meals

FOUNDATION MEALS, FELLOWSHIP + FUNDRAISING

For many years the Rotary Club of Bournemouth East Cliff has had a programme of members and their wives and partners hosting a dinner party in their own homes with the hosts providing the venue and the meal. The guests are invited by the hosts and they contribute £15 per head into the Club's Charity Account Fund which is used as part of our annual contribution to Rotary's own Worldwide Charity, Rotary Foundation.  In our club we are so well supported by our wives and partners that we are inclined to think of the couple as the rotary members! Let's keep on doing it together. In 2013/4 we put this initiative on the 'back burner' for a year.

We have just started a new Rotary Year and it would be good to start up again for those who wish to participate.

They can be: EVENING DINNER PARTY, BREAKFAST, BRUNCH, LUNCHES. BARBECUES, AFTERNOON TEA PARTY, THEMED INTERNATIONAL or ETHNIC MEAL in fact anything to suit host and guests.

As we are trying to raise funds, we recognise that it is important to try and involve other friends, family, neighbours and potential members as well so that we are not just taking money from our own members pockets.  Please try and mix things up and make the occasion a real fun event and introduce some new people into our fund raising circle and hopefully continue the great spirit of fellowship and camaraderie that have become a real part of our club calendar.

In addition to Friday Evenings, Saturdays and Sundays we also have every other THURSDAY evening which may also be a useful alternative for those with busy diaries. Any other weekday can be used if convenient to those involved.

PLEASE

v   Set a date soon

v   Invite your guests

v   Advise me of the date and the guests names

v   Enjoy the evening/lunch/breakfast whatever

v   Collect £15 per head,  (if any non club guests please get names and addresses and agreement that the donation can be considered for gift aid.)

v   Give the monies collected to John Maddox for Charities account, there is an envelope available upon which to write names of those attending or just give him a list

v   Give Geoff Lupton the details of the non Club members for gift aid reclaim.

I will try to monitor the names of those attending and endeavour to ensure no-one is forgotten.

THIS IS A FUN WAY TO MEET AND TURN ACQUAINTANCES INTO FRIENDS. IT IS NOT A COMPETITION AND NO ONE JUDGES ANYTHING.  PLEASE TRY AND JOIN IN, WE ALL ENJOY THE EFFORT AFTERWARDS.  THE FIRST STEP IS THE HARDEST.

Please try to help us this year and have fun
