Our speaker, Chris Birchall, spoke about his experiences as a photographer. Photography was always a passion and one that he turned into a profession.
He began as a features photographer in a local paper and when his employers wanted him to take photographs at football matches he decided that he would become a free lance photographer and set up a studio in Ruthin.
Competition in the photography business is fierce so Chris specialised in aspects of photography. This started as "make over' portraits and when this became more wise spread he began to specialise in "boudoir" photography and when this, in turn, became more available he changed to "fantasy" photography when a subject is turned into, for example, a mermaid.
Chris works in partnership with his wife, Jane.
