  • Martin Ramsay represented the Candlelighters Trust, which helps children fighting cancer and supports their parents to spend time with them in hospital.

14th December 2004 - Santa Sleigh Collection

For a number of years members of the Club have accompanied Santa for a few nights in the run-up to Christmas as he checks out the Northallerton area. A house to house collection has raised valuable monies for local rotary charities.

The 2004 event collected over £650 for charity.

2nd January 2005 - Collection Provides Shelter Boxes for Tsunami victims

On 2nd January 2005 a joint collection by the Rotary Clubs of Northallerton and of Northallerton Mowbray raised monies to be used to provide Shelter boxes for the Boxing Day Tsunami victims.

The collection realised in excess of £3,300 for the appeal and the two Rotary Clubs increased that using existing funds to make a donation of £4,500. This purchased 9 Shelter Boxes for immediate delivery to the stricken areas. Each shelter box contains a tent and sleeping bags for 10 people together with crockery, cutlery and water purification equipment.

23rd February 2005 - Rotary Centenary Trees

To celebrate the Centenary of Rotary two beech trees were planted on the Green to the north of Northallerton Parish Church, one signifying Northallerton Rotary Club, the other Northallerton Mowbray Rotary Club.
