Denbigh and District Foodbank
There are millions of people across the UK living below the poverty line and they face many financial hardships.
The Foodbank is designed to help people in financial difficulties by providing emergency food supplies sufficient for three days. The food will be given in exchange for a voucher issued by frontline care professionals and in accordance with published criteria. All the food is non-perishable and is donated by the public and sorted and stored at Capel Mawr, Denbigh.
The Denbigh Foodbank is a part of the Trussell Trust network of Foodbanks across the UK.
The members of the Rotary Club of Denbigh voted to support the Foodbank, initially by a donation of money and now by providing items of food each week for collection.
The initiative is seen by members of the club as supporting those people less well off than ourselves in our own community and is in line with the "We're for Communities" promotion of Rotary International in Britain and Ireland.
