Denbigh Supports the 2012 District Disabled Games

On Sunday September 16th 2012, the twelfth District 1180 Disabled Games were held on the Field of Dreams of the Bank of America at the Chester Business park.

Denbigh Rotarians supported the event by manning the Golf, or more accurately the Putting Green, one of about twenty activities on offer.  Once the games were opened by District Governor Roger Heath, there was a steady stream of participants throughout the day keen to take part and do well at the putting.  Half a dozen 'holes in one' were recorded and these were greeted with great delight.

At the end of the games each participant was presented with a medal by the Lord Mayor of Chester and the District Governor and, judging by the howls of delight when the medals were presented, this was a highlight of the day.

Participants  from the Gateway Club of Denbigh and Ruthin came to take part in all the fun and their coach was sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Ruthin and Denbigh.
