In the Round - From Wheels to Football

Wadebridge Rotary Club, through its New Generations committee, was very proud be able to help support the work of the junior teams of Wadebridge Town FC by presenting a modest cheque of £250 to go specifically towards the fund used to ensure that their Coaches are able to gain and maintain the right levels of training.  It is this training that enables the Coaches to pass on the right skills, advice and inspiration to young footballers.
The cheque (raised from Wheels 2012) was handed over to Eamonn O'Connor - the Under 9s Coach - and his son, Zak, by Rotarian Stuart Hutchison recently up at the Wadebridge Town FC Ground.  As Stuart said: "The Rotary Club is very pleased to be able to provide some much needed funding to help the volunteer junior Coaching staff up at the Club; it is wonderful to see that these youngsters are being given proper training and encouragement in a sport they love, by Coaches who seem equally to enjoy the game and the part they now play in it.  We wish the teams well and will continue to take an active interest in their progress".

Wadebridge Town FC Under 9s won their League last season and have now moved up to another level, where the challenges are greater and the wins less easy to come; enhanced coaching skills will be their best way to success.  If you want to know more about the activities of Wadebridge Town FC then do visit the web site: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/wadebridgetown
