Our speaker on November 20th was Dr. Prydwen Elfed-Owens, President of the Court of the National Eisteddfod and Chairman of the Management Board. Dr Elfed-Owens is the first woman to hold the position of the President of the Court.
She began her talk by asking the question "What is authentically Welsh?" and quickly dressed in a bonnet, Welsh tall hat and a shawl to give us an impression of a stereotypical Welsh lady in national costume. "Is this what the Eisteddfod is all about?" she asked.
The answer, of course, was NO! The Eisteddfod is for all the people of Wales and celebrates all aspects of the Welsh Nation,
After asking us a few general questions about the Eisteddfod, Prydwen gave us a number of facts about the Eisteddfod
