Eco Conscious Rotary

Members and partners visited the new eco house of Neil Gourlay.

Rotarians and friends of the Thornhill and District Club recently travelled to Moniaive where they sampled the luxury eco-experience on offer at Three Glens House - as guests of owners Neil and Mary Gourlay.
The group were treated to a guided tour of the house by Neil and Mary who were very keen to explain the subtle use of technology throughout the house; the energy efficient harnessing of wind power; the use of fuel from sustainable sources; the careful attention to maximising the use of available sunlight; the extensive use of reclaimed and recycled fittings and materials throughout the house; and many other unique green features.
Neil, Green Energy Farmer of the Year 2011, also explained how he proposed to market the house as a luxury catered holiday getaway accommodation where guests would experience a unique slant on sustainable living.
The visit was topped off by a splendid buffet provided by Mary and her staff.
