Congres des Isles

The Congres des Isles weekend hosted by Alderney was a huge success and enjoyed by all.

Each year the Channel Island Rotary Clubs get together to share fund raising and service ideas and socialise. We are also joined by some of our mainland district friends, including District officers members from other Clubs (Wareham, Winchester, New Forest, Four Marks and Medstead, Fordingbridge and Ringwood... (with apologies to any I have missed).

This event was a great opportunity to share ideas and look for ways to work together to maximise our Club service and fund raising events. The Saturday congress allowed John Eade to introduce himself as the incoming District Governor and present his ideas for the coming year. Discussions on Membership and PR were lead by Mike Sanders and Peter Clayton, and Mike Jackson summarised current projects. Alan Hollands presented the qualification and process for Rotary Foundation grants.

The event was well attended and a whole lot of fun! It certainly helped that the sun shined and showed Alderney to be the paradise isle it is, but the Alderney Rotarians made the event by playing such excellent and convivial hosts.
