Eighty-Fifth Charter February 15th 2013

The eighty-fifth Charter celebrations at Denbigh held to commemorate the granting of our charter on February 7th 1928


On Friday February 15th members of the club celebrated the eighty-fifth anniversary of the granting of the charter to the club on February 7th in 1928.  

Eighty six Rotarians from eighteen clubs and guests assembled in the Oriel House Hotel.  To help celebrate  this milestone in the history of the club was Rotary GB&I President John Minhinick and District Governor Roger Heath. They both congratulated Denbigh on achieving eighty-five years of service and fellowship and gave encouragement to continue to be of service to our local communities and those beyond our shores.  A key element in both the speeches was the need to continue with polio eradication until the job is complete.

President John presented  President Elfed with a certificate celebrating our eighty-fifth birthday and DG Roger presented long service certificates to seven members, Aldi, Gwyrfai, David F, Alwyn, Gwynn P, John D and Gwyn DD.  He also mentioned that there were certificates for three members who could not be present, Syd, Gwyn T and Gwilym.

After these presentations and official speeches,  we were treated to over half an hour of wonderful singing by  C
