Tesco recognises Rotary's contribution to the community

Tesco (Newton Aycliffe) recognises Rotary's contribution to the community (17th December)

President, Roger Curtis is presented with a cheque to the value of 500 by Martin Butcher (manager of Tesco) and employee Shirley
McCormack.

The donation was in recognition of the work undertaken by the club within the community and for the excellent working relationship that has
developed between the two organisations over the years.

The Rotary Club of Newton Aycliffe working with Tesco arranged collections over three days in December 2012 at the store in Newton Aycliffe
at which the equivalent of over 6000 meals were donated by the generous people of the town and surrounding areas. Some 72 hrs of collecting
were put in by the Roatry volunteers and representatives from the local churches. This was a combined effort with the Durham Food bank
which is a church based charity working throughout the County.
