Club Meeting ~ Presidential Handover

Outgoing president John McCormick welcomed 15 other members, and presented the latest of his full colour club newsletters for use in recruiting new members.

After lunch he reviewed a busy and successful year for the club, with the highlights including trips to Berlin and Oban, the Six Clubs Dinner, the Christmas Dinner and Burns Night with the Garelochside club, the presentation of the Bubble Chamber to Parklands School, cheques to Disabled Sailing and Disabled Riding, the very successful Wine Tasting, the Young Chef and Young Writer competitions, and the Primary Schools Quiz.

A considerable amount of publicity had been obtained at local and district level, and he thanked secretary Donald Fullarton and treasurer Lesley Kennedy for their support throughout the year.

He then invested incoming president Graham Smith with his chain of office. Graham is the first member to serve as president twice, his first year of office being 16 years ago. Graham thanked him for a very good year as president, and presented him with an engraved quaich and a past president
