Stranraer Rotary Mull of Galloway Trail Marathon
(previously known as Mull of Galloway Trail and Sail Challenge)

Next year's date now announced as Saturday 9 June 2018.
Now in its 6th year, the popularity of this event is increasing annually.

The Mull of Galloway Trail is one of the few routes in the country that occur at marathon length, making it an ultimate challenge for many trail runners.

The marathon route starts at the Mull of Galloway lighthouse, the southern most point in Scotland, The 10 mile route starts at Sandhead.

The route takes you along beaches & walls, through woods, fields, villages & campsites, over sand dunes and along roads. Then there are the spectacular views and wildlife. You name it, this marathon seems to have it.

Both races finish at the marina in Stranraer where you are welcomed with a hot shower, a BBQ, complimentary drinks and even music.

Now that's a marathon with a difference don't you think??
