Peter Cowley gave a fascinating talk on Sir Henry Seagrave's World Speed Record attempt at Southport 1926, an event that most members knew very little about. Sir Henry Seagrave was a typical Boys Own Hero - fighting, and being injured in the Great War in the army, ending the war in the RFC, taking on Sir Malcolm Campbell for land and water speed records, and unfortunately, dieing on one of his water speed events.
