Ellon Rotarian Rose to the Challenge

Local solicitor Doug Winchester took part in the Ythan Challenge again, to raise some funds for a global project in which The Rotary Club of Ellon is involved.  When asked how he had survived the challenge, he replied that it was "a piece of cake".

The Ythan Challenge is a 10k adventure race run along the banks of the River Ythan and through the wilder parts of the Esslemont Estate. Hay bales, assault nets, a bog and the river itself are some of the obstacles that the runners encounter.

As well as organising local events such as the annual Ellon Pedal Car Race, and supporting many local groups, like Ellon Civic Pride and other community activities in Ellon and surrounding villages, as part of Rotary International the Ellon club is involved in other work further afield and one of these is the major international project to rid the world of polio through its End Polio Now campaign.

You can support Doug in his Rotary work by handing in a donation to his office at 57 Station Road, or online using the Donate Button below, by PayPal, credit or debit card. All money raised will go to End Polio Now.
