Hell's Kitchen a great success

From Hell to Heaven with the help of a bit of good grub.

The Club and Furness College joined forces recently to raise money for charity.

The Rotary Club of Barrow-in-Furness, normally based at the Lisdoonie Hotel, staged a Hells Kitchen in the swish new cooking and dining facilities at the College to provide a 3 course meal for more than eighty guests.

Eight Rotarians with assistance from catering staff and students worked all day to prepare and cook an a-la-carte menu, then serve it, carvery style, with considerable panache.

Guests who were all contributing to charities supported by Rotary were delighted, and College staff and students thoroughly enjoyed the fun.

President Mike Cumming thanked guests for supporting Rotary and to all who had laboured all day to make the event an outstanding success.

Each student was presented with a Rotary certificate to mark their contribution to a very special evening.

Past President Bill Jones thanked the N.W.Evening Mail for supplying specially printed tickets which were designed for the prize draw.

Prizes were donated by Edmundsons Electrical and the College catering department.
