Nigerian-born Tayo Aluko is based in Liverpool, UK, where he worked until early 2009 as an architect and property developer, with a special interest in eco-friendly construction.

Tayo's one-man play, CALL MR ROBESON was premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2007, and has since been performed around the UK, across the US & Canada and in both Jamaica & Nigeria. It has won several awards, both in Britain and internationally, and received a rapturous reception at New York's prestigious Carnegie Hall in 2012.

He researched, wrote and narrated a file on the history of West Africa which now forms part of the permanent exhibition at the International Museum of Slavery in Liverpool, and writes for the media in both the UK and Africa.

As a baritone, he has appeared as guest soloist in the UK, Germany, Ireland and Nigeria, including at the Bridgewater Hall with the Halle Orchestra. He has performed lead roles in various operas and stage musicals, including Nabucco, Kiss Me Kate and Anything Goes. Oratorio roles include the Faure and Brahms Requiems, Samson, Elijah, Messiah and many more.
