President Graham Smith chaired the meeting and welcomed 12 other members. After the meal, past president Bryan Wight treated members to an intriguing tale of grave-robbing, linked to anatomy studies at Edinburgh University.
This happened about 200 years ago, and at the time it was alleged that the perpetrators were five enterprising Wights, Bryan's direct ancestors. Only ten years later, Burke and Hare became famous for speeding-up the process of supplying much-needed corpses for Edinburgh's medical students.
The vote of thanks was given by past president Derek Hall, and the weekly draw for the whisky miniature was won by past president Douglas Dow.
