The 2013 Sandwich Boards were paraded through the town centre on Saturday 18th May and made a major contribution to this year's fundraising.
Andrew Griffiths, our local MP and an honorary member of the club, accompanied by his fiancee Kate, turned out to lend support and were photographed along with all the boards starting from the Octagon end of the march. Andrew and Kate then donned boards and joined in the march. Well done and a great big thanks to them.
The weather was cold and breezy but the photographers were heard to proclaim this is ideal weather - who wants sunshine and shadows - really messes up the photos! Mmmmm - each to his own!
The number of boards was significantly reduced from last year, although very few sponsors declined to buy a board. We sold 141 boards and I am delighted to record that 76 of them were at the £50 rate. The total amount raised will be £5828.13 after expenses and including the bucket collection of £50.63. Remember to follow up any unpaid boards.
Thank you to all members and friends who helped to carry the boards and steward the event - we could not have done it without you.
