President Evan's challenge is designed to raise awareness of Rotary's efforts to end the scourge of polio throughout the world, and to raise money to help us to achieve this objective.
Here he is practising in his garden. His sponsored hop will take place around lunch-time in the market square on Friday 28 October, supported by Club members who will be available to explain Rotary's long involvement in this global project.

Members of the Rotary Clubs in Northampton have vowed to back an international campaign to stamp out polio from the world for good.
Polio eradication has been Rotary's top priority since 1985. Since then, polio cases have fallen from 350,000 a year to a recorded 222 last year. Two billion children have been protected from the disease, and the number of endemic countries has fallen from 125 to just three Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan.
It is estimated that five million children have been spared from disability and 250,000 deaths have been averted.
