Shelter Box Donation
Windsor & Eton Rotary Club continues to support ShelterBox. When Typhoon Bolaven struck North Korea, it swept away almost every building in the coastal area, leaving over 26,000 people homeless. One of the Club's donations has been given to families in desperate need. Despite the large scale of the catastrophe, there was no publicity or communication with the outside world so the scenes of devastation went almost entirely unseen. It seemed unlikely that the country would accept any outside help but ShelterBox responded quickly to find a way to get aid to people left with nothing.
The people in North Korea are arguably some of the most vulnerable in the world. There is rarely enough to eat and they have to harvest everything by hand. They spend almost every waking hour in the fields just to survive and simply don't have the time or materials to rebuild their homes.
