Rotary Clubs believe it is very important to encourage and develop creativity in young people in the kitchen. Cooking amongst young people is a growing interest and a valuable life skill. Rotary clubs in association with leading olive oil company Filippo Berio, have organised Young Chef Competitions at club level in the Autumn term. The winners then going forward to a district final which has been held at Grimsby Institute. The competition goes from strength to strength each year producing some superb quality cooking from young people aged 11 to 17.
Thousands of youngsters from all over Great Britain and Ireland enter the competition and through competition at club district and regional level become shortlisted down to eight competing in the national final.
The contestants have to prepare and present a 3 course healthy meal for 2 people fully costed and planned for under
