Club Meeting ~ Presidential Handover

Tue, Jul 1st 2014 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

Outgoing president Graham Smith reviewed the rotary year and presented the chain of office to his successor, Bill Deans. Lesley Kennedy stepped up to senior vice-president, with Bill Jones becoming junior vice-president.

Outgoing president Graham Smith welcomed nine other members and two guests, Assistant Governor Jimmy Johnston and newly installed Helensburgh Garelochside club president Richard Horrell.

After reporting on an excellent Council dinner in the Upper Crust Restaurant, West Clyde Street, the previous evening, Graham spoke about what had been a very quick and successful year. He said that his only regret had been that no new members had been admitted. He expressed his thanks to his fellow officebearers, committee conveners and all the club members for their support, then presented the chain of office to his successor, Bill Deans.

Bill presented Graham with a past president's jewel, and said that it was an honour and a privilege to become president at the start of the club's 50th anniversary year
