Sat 1st February 2014

Esther Buick represented the Rotary Club of Blaby Meridian & Brockington college at the local finals held 1st February at Samworth Academy. She was the youngest competitor on the day competing against 10 boys and 5 girls from South & west Leics schools.

The standard was incredibly high and all the students prepared a three course meal in 2 hours and then had to display these for judging. There were three professional chefs judging and they did take a long time to decide, all the pupils were congratulated on producing such excellent food.

Esther was lucky enough after winning the school heat to be coached by local chef Tony Parris and not only has she practiced her dish with him she also cooked as part of the team for  a meal for the Club. Esther worked so hard and unfortunately did not win overall however she has been offered a part time job working at Cosby Golf Club as part of the function team.

Esther represented Brockington College very professionally and produced an excellent meal, more importantly she represented the local Rotary Club and they have been very proud of her and wish to carry on using Brockington pupils to represent their club in the National Rotary Young Chef competition.
