Rotary Young Chef Competition - District Final 2014
Fourteen young chefs meet in Poole to compete in the District 1110 Final of the Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland Young Chef Competition.
This year's District final was held on 22nd February 2014 in Poole, Dorset. Jersey's representative Chloe Wallser, joined 13 other finalists who had each won their own local Young Chef competition organised by the Rotary Club in their home town. Channel Island rivalry was rejoined as Guernsey had a finalist there too.
Thanks to the efforts of Malcolm Dent, a member of the Rotary Club of Gosport, we have a brilliant record of the event. The photos in the carousel above, even more on Flickr here plus a video of the proceedings below. Do enjoy.
For the record the winners were:
- Oliver de Costa by one point from
- Emily Robinson and in third place
- Shannon White
But of course the real winners were all those participating and gaining confidence from the experience, well done everyone.
Oliver and Emily now go on to represent District 1110 at the regional finals in Redruth. We wish them every success there too. It would be great if they advanced firther to the National finals in London.
