Classics on the Common

A top-ranking event
Once a year Harpenden Common, that calm, sweeping tract of common land, that Jewel in the town's crown, comes alive for half a day with more than 1000 classic cars and other four-wheelers, plus  motor cycles and scooters. There you'll find a Chevy Bel Air rubbing shoulders with a 1927 Trojan, and a rare 1978 Mantra Bagheera with a '59 Berliet. Plus 10,000 admiring spectators.

Little wonder Classics on the Common, already Britain's biggest mid-week classic car show, now ranks among the top events of the classics calendar.

Charities benefit, too

Early estimates suggest that this years show raised more than last years record 24,000. The beneficiaries will be Community Meeting Point, Alzheimers Society (local branch), Youth Talk, Macmillan Cancer Support andGuildford Rotary Eye Project and other causes supported by Rotary.

Vehicles, motorcycles and scooters wishing to exhibit at the show must be at least 20 years old.

  • The club is very grateful to the management of Fairview New Homes Limited for allowing us to use parking facilities on the site of the former Harpenden House Hotel during Classics on the Common
