Rotary Checks the Pressure!

As part of the Stroke Association's Stroke Awareness Week, The Rotary Club of Castle Douglas arranged a free drop-in blood pressure checking clinic with the kind permission of "Boots the Chemist" in King Street.  Dr G Purdie of the Garden Hill Medical Practice and Dr Sharma of the St Andrew's Street Dental Practice carried out blood pressure checks and also offered advice to all the participants.

Over 35 People took advantage of the facility, some from as far away as Cambridge and Teeside, to check that everything was OK.  Leaflets and other advice about blood pressure and stroke awareness were available and still can be obtained from "Boots" or at the GP surgeries at Garden Hill.
