Current Projects

Once again Ewell Rotary is pleased to be able to support the following charities in the run-up to Christmas.

Together at Christmas, Organized by Churches together in Ewell a Christmas Day Lunch for some of the elderly lonely people of the district.

Three Cheers for Cheers who provide hampers for long stay patients leaving Epsom and St Helier Hospital over the Christmas period who are elderly or going home alone

Recent Projects

On a Saturday in October we saw a party of 11 Rotarians, Rotaractors and friends tackle the wild growth on the perimeter bund at the Epsom Riding for the Disabled Association. A couple of doors which need attention were also worked on.

During the previous week the forecast had swung between wet and needing snorkels, so we were prepared to do indoor work. But the day started dry so we chanced it and got on with the outside job of clearing weeds, trees and bramble. Luckily the rain held off for the whole session.

Everyone enjoyed it and got a real sense of satisfaction in helping one of our local charities.

A small band of volunteers recently attended to the garden of a pair of elderly sisters in Stoneleigh. Age Concern put the Club in touch with these ladies who were very pleased with the work done. The pictures show the 'before and after' scenes. One flower bed was cleared and given a mulch of compost. More needs to be done and we are hoping to set up another session in a few weeks.

In the last 12 months we have supported the following local Charities .

Cardiac Risk in the Young ( CRY ) who promotes the heart screening of young people and also offers support to those who have suffered a loss and sponsors medical research , purchasing a heart testing machine.

Marie Curie Cancer Care
