Ashtead Rotary Community Service Awards

Deadline for nominations: midnight, Wednesday 17th May 2017.

Date of award ceremony: Ashtead Village Day, 10th June 2017.

Address for nominations: Simon Ling, Woodstock House, 29A Agates Lane, Ashtead KT21 2ND.

In 2001, Ashtead Rotary instituted two special awards, the purpose of which is to recognise outstanding voluntary service to the local community by members of it. Presentations are made each year at Ashtead Village Day and receive much local publicity. From 2016 there were three categories of award: volunteer individual, volunteer organisation and employed individual. All recipients are extremely well-deserving of the honour and Ashtead Rotary Club is proud to be associated with their success.

You may nominate, either on behalf of your organisation or as an individual, as many individual or group candidates as you like. A selection panel from Ashtead Rotary Club will make the final decision on the basis of the information supplied and any supporting information gathered from elsewhere. Any award is at the absolute discretion of the selection panel.

The criteria for the two "Community Service Awards" for volunteers are that the nominee should:

  • Live, work or be based within the borders of Ashtead as defined by address and postcode.
  • Have given voluntarily their time and services to help other members of the community.
  • Have done so in a manner that demonstrates their dedication and commitment to the needs of others.

The criteria for the one "Service Above Self Award" for an employed individual are that the nominee should:

  • Live, work or be based within the borders of Ashtead as defined by address and postcode.
  • Have given exceptional service to the community through a profession, vocation or employment over and above the normal expectation.
  • Have done so in a manner that demonstrates their dedication and commitment to the needs of others.

A number of exceptional nominations are received each year and unsuccessful nominations are not carried forward so if a nomination was unsuccessful in the past, please consider sending in updated particulars of the candidate.

Nominations should be submitted in writing and include a description of why the candidate is worthy of the award, together with any appropriate, supporting material.

Please submit any queries about the awards or the nomination process using the form below.
