AGM Friday 17th April 2015

Rotary Club of Stirling meeting of 17/4/15
President David Paterson welcomed members to the club AGM.
We were pleased to hear that our team had reached the final of the Gavel competition, following a very close match against Dundee Claverhouse. The match was tied at 15 all, but was decided in our favour by the last game, with Robin Sutton and Colin Bayes holding their nerve to put Stirling ahead.
David reported that our present financial situation has allowed us to make donations to 22 organisations this year. In addition council has proposed donations to Strathcarron Hospice, Motor Neurone research, Cambusbarron playgroup and Dunblane chamber orchestra. All were approved by the members.
David expressed his thanks to Jim Kerr who is due to stand down from the post of secretary after 7 years.
With the arrival of the growing season, Sandy Leven circulated a rota so that members could indicate the days they will be available to help with watering at Stirling station.
Having taken us through the business of the AGM President David closed the meeting.
Next week's Speakers host TBA  Visitors host Crawford Gordon.
