The Regional finals for area 7 Rotary School Quiz

The Regional finals for area 7 will took place in The Lesser Albert Hall, Stirling on Saturday 10th May 2014. President Martin welcomed everyone to the event and District Governor John Anderson also addressed the packed halls.

Eleven teams of four from Rotary Area 7 took part in the area finals, with all schools doing very well and only 18 points the difference between all the teams. It was interesting to note that all individual schools managed at least one round of 100%

The winning team was St. Ninians Primary School with 100 points.
The prizes were presented by  Michael Goodfellow, Olympic silver medal winner for curling at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Second were Newton Primary School with 99 points, both schools now go forward to the finals in Aberdeen. Third was Abernethy Primary School.

The Rotary Club of Stirling would like to thank everyone who participated in the afternoon's event and in particular a big thanks to Michael Goodfellow for giving up his time to present the prizes and allowing everyone to have their photograph taken with him and also allowing people to hold his silver medal, well done one and all.

The area 7 finals were organised and run by Derek Anderson and Don MacLeod, the photographs were taken by Sandy Morrison. Jim Kerr, Sandy Farquharson and David Paterson were the markers, Alan Rankin was in charge of collection and distribution of the test papers and Robin Sutton looked after the display of the scores.
