President Bill Deans welcomed eleven other members, and announced with great regret the resignation of Hugh Sweeney who wishes to have fewer commitments inhibiting his leisure activities now that he has retired. The president announced that there would be no meeting on Tuesday November 4 as the BBC is taking over the whole Yacht Club for three days to film scenes for a drama production, including a wedding and a funeral. In the absence of Derek Hall, Bill Jones conducted the monthly raffle, this time for a bottle of The Balvenie malt whisky, and it was won by Adam Muggoch. The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Ron Dunachie.
