Alastair Wilson read the Board minutes, prepared by secretary Donald Fullarton. The weekly draw for the whisky miniature iou was won by David Arthur.

Alastair has supplied the following information about the film: "It is entitled 'The Imitation Game' and is just out on release this week.

"Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, it is about Alan Turing who played a brilliant leading role in the Bletchley Park code-breaking of Enigma. In 1952 he was convicted of public indecency, undertook chemical castration as a punishment, and subsequently committed suicide in 1954.

"He got an official public apology from Prime Minister Gordon Brown in 2009 and a posthumous pardon from the Queen in 2012. Now there are people campaigning to put his face on banknotes."
