President Bill Deans welcomed 13 other members. Alastair Wilson reported that he hoped the salmon ordered from the Mid-Argyll club would be available for distribution at next Tuesday's meeting, and Douglas Dow indicated that he had four Rotary Christmas puddings left for sale.

Adam Muggoch reported on the Young Musicians competition held at Lomond School the previous Wednesday, when only three pupils took part but the standard was very high. The instrumental winner was a young Romanian pianist, Cyprian Pansitescu, while Sally Ram took the vocal prize. The other instrumentalist was another doctor's daughter, flautist Lucy Dunn.
