To Frack or not to Frack - That is the Question!

Thu, Sep 25th 2014 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

An evening meeting for Club Members and Guests at Chapman's Seafood Bar and Brasserie in Canterbury on 25th September 2014

Every Quarter we have an evening meeting generally with a speaker on a topic of interest to the club, sometimes light hearted, sometimes a bit more serious!

Richard Cook (an expert in such matters) came to talk to us about Fracking in Kent - one of those topics we hear a lot about but many of us know so little about!

We were joined by several members from Canterbury Sunrise Rotary Club so it was a great fellowship evening as well.

When you get down to the real facts you realise how distorted the majority of the information that is put out by some groups actually is and that with todays rules, procedures, H&S guidelines etc and the vastly improved technology that is used compared to that when it started (over 70 years ago) the risks are probably very minimal and probably a lot less than we think.

Its still a "Marmite" subject though, so watch this space as they say.

A few pictures from the web - not many in support that are putting their heads over the parapet!!
