Satellite Club Inauguration

At the end of June 2014, The Rotary Satellite Club of Penny Bridge, Wallasey was inaugurated at a lively evening held at the Poulton Vics. Social Club.

Satellite Club of Penny Bridge - Wallasey

The concept of a Satellite Club is new to Rotary and opens up a different way to follow Rotary ideals.  It is like a 'branch' of the Wallasey Club, to which they belong, but they organise themselves, their meetings and their own activities.  The District Governor and representatives of some thirteen clubs attended the evening along with Past District Governor Tony Cotton who is the District 'Task Force' officer responsible for such initiatives.

The District Governor reads out the Charter with Wallasey Rotary President, Manojit Lodh, in attendance.

Wallasey Club President, Manojit Lodh gave some brief background to the club's foundation and Penny Bridge's Chair, Liz Byrne introduced all the new members.  Welcome Packs were presented, together with Rotary pins.  As the event was held during the football World Cup, everyone was encouraged to attend representing one of the competing teams, and the decorations followed a similar theme.  The evening was rounded off with a substantial buffet and a relaxed musical finish by Ed and Leo Coughlan.
