The main role of the Community & Vocational Committee is to support other local groups and charities by organising money raising events. More importantly, perhaps, we carry out "hands on" community work when the opportunity presents itself - such as taking blood pressures in Morrison's Car Park on "Stroke Awareness Days".
In the current Rotary Year (July 2017 to Jun 2018) we have organised the annual "Santa Fun Run", SWIMFEST, a "Waitrose Trolley Dash", a Big Band and BBQ at the Gilmorton Cricket pavilion, and litter picking at the Latvian Summer Solstice Festival at Catthorpe Manor.  Planning for the next Rotary year (2018-2019 is now underway.

Many local and international charities have benefitted from the money we have raised, from Leicestershire Air Ambulance to Rainbows Children's Hospice, to the Lutterworth Share and Care Group (a local dementia care charity).  We hope all our chosen charities will contonue to benefit over the coming years.
