Over 1,060 people ran or walked in the 2016 Sawston Fun Run & Walk held on the 15th May 2016. The massive sum of £13,275 was donated to our major beneficiary Teenage Cancer Trust and other local charities and organisations. This takes the cumulative amount donated to local Cambridgeshire good causes, since the event was first held, to over £424,000.
Funding for the Teenage Cancer Trust will contribute to further developments at the charity’s unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, which was opened in 2012. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer - seven every day.
