Thornhill RC donate a weeks accommodation to Carsethorn RnR

A group of Rotarians and partners from the Thornhill and District Club recently had the privilege of visiting the Carsethorn home of South West Scotland RnR.

SWS RnR is a registered charity set up by Carsethorns Jennefer Tobin. Jennefer set up the charity to help British Troops who have served their country in overseas conflicts - Rest n Recover - from often severe injuries sustained in the course of combat. The charity offers them the chance to spend a week with a small number of their comrades who have to face the most difficult challenge of readjusting to life in civvy street.  At Carsethorn, they enjoy the warmth and support offered by family life - which many of us take for granted.

In the course of the week, as well as encouraging them to live together as a family, Jennefer and her team are able to offer them the opportunity to take part in all sorts of activities kindly offered by local organisations. They are also made most welcome for a drink with locals at the neighbouring Steamboat Inn.

The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District raised cash to provide one soldier with one weeks residential stay at Carsethorn.
