Eco House

Anthony and Annette Goddard hosted the Rotary Club at their home, Newton Harcourt Manor, to understand more about their building project involving the contruction of an innovative eco house within the grounds of their current property.  Anthony gave an introduction about his family that has now had three generations of architects with forebears responsible for the design of local Leicester landmarks [Clock Tower, St James The Greater Church].  Anthony showed a collection of original hand drawings by both his father and grandfather from the family collection.  Members were also treated to a viewing of the 'museum' located in the cellar of the house where a somewhat 'whappy' collection of memorabilia is housed.

The museum demonstrated by model the original planned eco house but this has subsequently been modified.  Perhaps a further visit is justified next year when, hopefully, the house build has commenced and more information may be available.

Anthony and Annette kindly provided refreshments at their home before decamping with members to Boboli, Kibworth for a meal.
