The presentation of a New Charter to the New Junior Rotary Club ( Interact Club ) at Windsor Girls School ( WGS ) took place at Cumberland Lodge on Monday 23rd of June by kind permission of  Canon Rev Dr Edmund Newell, The Principal of Cumberland lodge who welcomed everyone. 

The Two Interact Officers from both Windsor Rotary Clubs David Shaw & Richard Cox hosted the event.

In attendance were Hon Members -  Worship  Mayor RBWM Cllr  Richard Kellaway & Mayoress (Mary-Lou) Kellaway - Gill Labrum Head teacher WGS and Canon Ed Newell, President Philip Turner - Rotary Club Windsor & Eton , Fred King District Governor Elect - Thames Valley Area,  President Inner Wheel Club Windsor and Eton - Daphne Fido, President Interact Club WGS - Lauren Burton & her 14 members, Kevin Mc Garry Secretary Prince Philip Trust Fund, the teacher responsible for Interact AT WGS Miss Emma Merritt - Mr Ross Johnson from Windsor Boys School and some of the his pupils ( forming a new Junior Rotary Club in September ) - and Fellow Rotarians David Shaw welcomed everyone to the magnificent 17 century Lodge, the largest house in Windsor Great Park. 

He said he particularly wanted this ceremony to take place here at Cumberland Lodge because of its strong educational links and clear mission which fits so well with Rotary's aims & objectives.


Lauren Burton ( President of Interact Spoke about their activities from the beginning & regular meetings ) Her club have helped The Windsor Food bank, Berkshire Maestros collecting old musical Instruments, Sky Dive for Heart Foundation,  Charity Collections at Christmas, Help at Rotary Mid Summer Fayre & Duck Race, Support an International Trip to Ecuador Camp International With Boys School.

The Mayor responded & Thanked Everyone giving the approval of The Royal Borough.

Miss Emma Merritt (Teacher) Read members out all the Interactors names & membership cards were given out by The Mayor, Canon Ed Newell & Mrs Gill Labrum,

President Philip Turner presented the chains of office - to President Lauren

- and Lauren present the Vice President's chain to Aala Saeed   Vice President

President Philip and Richard Cox presented the Charter - To President Laura - Fred King ADG said a few words on behalf of District mentioning the first District conference for the 26 Interact Clubs in the Thames valley area in November. 

Richard Cox presented framed pictures of the recent Prince Philip Trust Day at Ascot with Prince Edward ( Hon Member ) to President Lauren of Interact.

President Philip Turner Presented New Honary Members with their Badges & Ties & Scarf (The First Lady Hon Member Gill Labrum, Canon Rev Dr Edmund Newell, & New Mayor )

President Philip present a 75th Anniversary Badge to President of The Inner Wheel Club of W & E - Daphne Fido  -
